Absurd Word Country is a collaboration with Mike Monhart and some crazy ideas that would have been impossible to do without Don Gunn. With Mike's support, input and playing, we expanded on some duo ideas we liked; Mike is very lyrical and intense and he pushed me into some crazy directions.
The concept of the the record was to have all the various players blow in the studio without time or pitch reference to any of the other players that may have come in before them; this gave us the freedom to create the pieces in the mixing stage using the performances as malleable raw materials.
